Prof. Dr. Peter Mes can look back on a career in intellectual property law spanning more than 40 years. He is one of the most experienced patent lawyers in Germany. 

Prof. Dr. Peter Mes has published numerous essays and books on civil-law subjects, especially in the field of intellectual property law. His commentary on the Patent and Utility Model Act (4th ed., 2015) is one of the leading authorities in patent law. In addition, he edits the Beck’sches Prozessformularbuch (13th ed., 2016) and the Münchener Formularbuch on intellectual property law, copyright and press law (4th ed., 2014).

Prof. Dr. Peter Mes was a visiting lecturer for intellectual property law at the Westphalian Wilhelm University in Münster. From 2001 to 2013 he was the president of the German national AIPPI group, and has been an honorary member since then. In addition, from 1996 to 2014 he was joint editor of the GRUR and GRUR Int. journals, and at the same time also a member of the executive committee of GRUR. He was made an honorary member of GRUR for his services.
