Dirk Jestaedt has worked as a attorney at law at the law firm of KRIEGER MES & GRAF v.der GROEBEN since 2002. He has been partner there since 2009. His activities comprise advising clients and appearing for them in court in patent infringement disputes before the patent chambers in Germany and assisting in opposition and nullity proceedings before the German Patent and Trademark Office, the European Patent Office, the Federal Patent Court and the Federal Court of Justice.
In addition, Dirk Jestaedt is regulary involved in design law disputes and cases of product imitation. Further important activites are licence agreements as well as trade mark and competition law. He represents not only major international companies but also many medium-size German enterprises in a wide range of technical fields.
Dirk Jestaedt studied law in Osnabrück, Lausanne and Bonn and completed his doctorate under Professor Teplitzky in the field of competition law in 2002. During his official internship he spent several months in a US law firm in Los Angeles/California.
Dirk Jestaedt is the treasurer of GRUR West, a board member of the German-Swiss Lawyers’ Association, a member of VPP, the European Patent Litigation Lawyers Association (EPLAW) and the German national AIPPI group. He is a co-author of “Intellectual Property in Designs” and of the textbook on patent law by Prof. Bernhard Jestaedt. He has published various articles in GRUR and other journals and is a regular speaker on subjects in the field of intellectual property law.
