Jens Künzel advises and represents national and international companies and businesses with respect to all aspects of intellectual property and competition law. A main focus of his practice in the area of intellectual property is patent infringement litigation relating to diverse technical fields, and the advice and representation of companies in cases of design infringement, passing off and unfair competition law. As far as the wide area of competition law is concerned, Jens Künzel regularly advises companies, particularly manufacturers of products with a high level of labelling and identification requirements. In patent law, Jens Künzel has acted for international and German companies and corporations in infringement litigation concerning diverse fields of technology. In design law, he regularly acts for and advises manufacturers of different industry sectors. He also advises clients with regard to trademark issues and the configuration of License Agreements.
Jens Künzel graduated in Law from Trier University. Following his First State Exa¬mination, Jens Künzel studied at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England, from 1996-1997, where in 1998 he was awarded the degree of “Master of Laws in Common Law with Distinction” (LL.M.).
Jens Künzel already began specialising in intellectual property law during his official intern¬ship in 1998/1999. He was trained at, inter alia, Krieger Mes & Graf v. der Groeben and at the civil division of the Düsseldorf Regional Court responsible for copyright and competition law. In March 2000, he started his professional career as an attorney at the firm of Krieger Mes & Graf v. der Groeben, where he has been a partner since 1 July 2006.
Jens Künzel is a member of GRUR, the German national AIPPI group, EPLAW and the German-British Lawyers’ Association.
